Now that I've had my LA running for 2 years(after 20 yrs sitting) I've noticed some Anti-freeze in the oil in the spring only. Get about 2-3 tablespoons out after the first 2-3 times running in the spring. After that nothing. We never had water in the oil before we quit running it in '82(Dad always ran water & we drained it every winter) I'm getting to the point where it's time to paint this pup cause everything else seems good. It's got 3970 hrs on it. Should I replace the head gasket? Is it more serious than that? Would appreciate your opinions.
Thanks,
Steve

dollar to a donut it is the "O" rings on bottom of the sleeves that are leaking, better pull them and put on new before painting or you will have to do it later

I don't know much about case tractors but, but I know engines. It could be a head gasket or maybe a sleeve seal or even a small crack. Try a good rad. sealer and see if it helps could be some thing very small and the sealer may fix the problem with out you spending big $$. And for just a few it may stop the problem. From what you say its not a big problem maybe a dry seal that after its run some swells. Hope this helps
