I have an "Overspin" unit on the end of the SC PTO shaft. It has a zerk grease fitting and a plug on the other side of it. The problem is that I cannot get the overspin unit off of the PTO. I have looked for a retaining pin of some type that would lock this in place on the PTO but I have not located one? I have greased up the overspin unit and pounded on it with a hammer and pried it with a wrecking bar. Still cannot break it loose. Ok, fellow Case enthusiasts, what should I do now?

Flameau RED:

It's been years since I removed one, but I seem to remember two types.

On one, there is a hollow roll pin driven through the inner hub and PTO shaft. There should be a plug opposite the zerk. Remove both the plug and grease zerk from the outer hub, line those holes up with the roll pin in the pto shaft, and drive it out with a punch. Then the clutch should slip off the PTO shaft.

On the second, there was a snap ring on the side facing the tractor. Remove the snap ring, slide outer unit off, then you drive out the roll pin in the inner hub. Slide off shaft.
