Hello!

I sure love my 990 selectomatic. I have some problems hopfully I can resolve with some expert advise. Problem #1 pto will not engage without shutting down engine, Brake band on pto shaft(internal) is burnt down through lining to metal. I assume from prevous owner mashing it.
Where could I get a new brake band or have mine relined?
Problem #2 Wine in clutch housing, I have tore down and found throw out bearing to be a bit loose and not real free spinning. I will replace. Last time I shut off tractor it rattled in the clutch housing. Could that be bearing?
Problem #3 Tractor tranny housing gets way hot after disking, hydros are strong and quick, the pump is brand new. do I have somthing that can be adjusted in the valving. Thanks a million times over for any ideas, have a great day.

There are three adjustment screws on the pressure plate that need adjusting. That brake is for the transmission not the pto. I may have a used on here. The release bearing can make noises. Just how hot is the transmission getting, they do warm up with heavy tillage work, you may have the three point hitch at full height and blowing over relief on the hydraulic system. You will notice change in engine rpm when you move the lift lever ahead about an inch. If that is the case adjustment is needed.

Elmer, Thanks so much. You are the pillar of all DB wisdom. I think you are right with the three point lift up to far. What do I need for adjustment on the pressure plate? tighten or loosen? If you have a brake on the tranny shaft do you have a price and possiblly a manual for this machine? Thank you Elmer for your advice. Have a good'n
