i have this tractor. when i rev it up it is like the hydro fluid has no where to go and it realy pulls the engine down. it does this in neutral, forward and rev. when it is at idle it dosnt do it. i pulled the spool valve apart and everything looks good. i pulled the hydro tank off and everything is open. when it does this i am losing pressure on the return. can anyone help me figure this one out. THANKS

Hey Steve; Does the tractor move at all? Is it possible it's the engine itself laboring for some reason like bad ignition?

Are you using 15w-40 in the hydraulic? 20w when it's COLD. Open center system has NO pressure on the return (except cooler restriction) Do you have hydraulic PTO ? that has to be in neutral or have a loop line on it if nothing is hooked to it. Was the screen in the tank CLEAN? I've seen those plugged full of fuzz and dirt. If the flow slows when you rev the engine, then you have a restriction in the inlet side. check the hose like John said. vent in cap clear??? just some thoughts

Klyde is right re flow slowing when the rpm rises if the suction is restricted. This is due to pump cavitation. Hoses can swell on the inside and look normal on the outside. The inner liner can tear causing a "flap" that restricts flow also. Good luck, Joe

Hey Steve; Hopefully the suction line is collapsing, restricting flow to the pump. A cheap fix, but it could also be the motor. When you say "neutral", does that mean the control lever by the steering wheel, or the shift lever?

i did check the suction hose when it was doing it and everything looked good. could the pump be causing this? that is the only thing i did not check.and yes the control lever at the steering wheel in neutral. THANKS
