Help needed to identify david brown model

Hi you hard working tractor enthusiasts
I have a red david brown tractor 12 geared four cylinder diesel.
Begging someone to help me identify the beast. I have an engine number..... AD4 401 8668..... I would be gratefull to find out more about this lil darling i bought for aus $800.00

Problems so far:
a) no three point linkage ability
b) blows heaps of smoke, appears to be grey in colour and smelling heaps of diesel

Handing my problems over to you guys

look on the top right side of the egine frame, just ahead of the generator/alternator. you should see numbers stamped there in the casting. Three point hitch problem could be from a bad pump to worn control linkage. I have manuals if your interested. The fuelproblem could be the cold start valve is turned in on the injection pump. It is a "T" handle under the injection pump.
