I have a 1952 Case with serial # AC 5657002 and need a water pump. When looking for the pump there is listed VA and VAC type. How do I know which one to order ???

Use the casting number. My '51 VA uses VT-341 water pump.

JohnM, You say: I do not understand why there would be a VA and a VAC type water pump. that one is baffling. I am sure someone else will know

I have no idea of why there is a difference in a VA or VAC water pump, but if you click on "Click Here for Case parts" at the top of this Discussion Board screen and look at the VA it shows different price & PN. Maybe one has the fan belt pully & other doesn't. I hate to order one and not get the right one. No rush to order the water pump, but would like to get it soon. I live in FL and do not have to worry about working on the old CASE in the cold weather.
Hope to receive a reply from U. Andy

Do you have the engine number? The manual seems to reference to engine numbers. Either before A4700000, A4700000 to 72-E07778, or after 72E07778. That seems to be the reference. It also has a blow up diagram so if you just need the impeller, you can get that. I take it you want an assembly though.

Just one quick follow up, there is a VAC registered on this site with a serial number to make it a 51, and yours is a 52. It has an engine number in the last class in my previous post. So I think you are going to be looking for a VTA908 water pump assembly. That is your Case number, hopefully it will cross to a number you can use. Happy hunting!

The series is VA. I think you are missing the V on your serial number. The C stands for crop tractor, Like a VAO would be an orchard tractor, the VAH would be a high crop, the VAI an industrial etc. I do not understand why there would be a VA and a VAC type water pump. that one is baffling. I am sure someone else will know
