I have a '41 SC with a severly cracked block. I was reading below the "41 did not have side ribs on the engine. Mine does and the SR# on the engine matches the SR# plate on the dash. It is not center exhaust either. I am looking for a block for it so I can restore it. I love the big fenders and straight cast rear wheels. What was the rear rim width on this year?

Hello again, Larry.

Not sure what year/serial number that they changed the smooth block to the ribbed block- they may say in "Full Steam Ahead"... I'll poke around later and look for it. You probably just have a tractor made after the production change over.

I've got an early 1941 SC parts catalog, and it lists either a 8.00-38 rim or a 9.00-38 rim being available for the SC.

Hi, i have a s c case that has a real crack in the block, but sleeves and rest of block looks great. I have a guy that fixes anything and he looked at it and told me he would fix it right and put j. b. weld over after. Claimes this is the best way to do it As long as cracks are not between cyls.
