930 Case preheater solenoid

Need some help. Can somebody tell me if you can use any type of 12 volt solenoid on the preheater or does it have to be a Case solenoid for this purpous? Thanks

Hey Fuji; They aren't that bad from CASE as I remember, but any 12V activated solenoid will work; I think the Ford type will bolt right on. Take the old one to the auto store & they can match it.

No not the heater element in the manifold itself but the solenoid before it coming from the battery and switch

Thats what he's talking about ,same as the starter solinoid on an older ford truck. $8 at autozone and like $40 from Case.
