Pulled off the A267 Diesel Heads ( in a 730 ) and found 3 cracks between the valves in the chamber. After reading the archives, I discovered this is common on the 267. Anyhow, whats the best fix? Have them welded or go for boneyard replacements? Thanks in advace for any help.. Rollin

seems all the head repair shops went up, Neveda got $400.00 from me to redo a DC head . I went to a guy in ILL and it to was $400.00 again. And that was suppose to be with a account discount. I repaired some LP heads{ 6128A }for DC's. Then add up the shipping both ways on 80 lbs. I found another man that will weld them for $250.00 plus ship , so I may go that route next time.

I had one of my heads welded for my 730 It was cheaper than getting a replacement good heads are expensive.

Hey Rollin; 2 things crack those heads; Either & overheating. Head welding is becomming a lost art. If you are close to George in Md(He's on this board) have George look @ them. If you can easily have them welded, that's the way I'd go.

There is a really good place in Montreal that repairs heads. I have had really good luck with them. Their is a place in Mississauga Ont. that is good but they're deadly expensive.
