A G148 engine in the 300 was rated @ 33-34 pto and 29-30 drawbar. You can tell the difference between round nose & B model by the shape of the bolster front. Joe

What do you intend to do with after you gewt it? If its stock there isn't enough horses aboard. We used to pull our 300 at 5000 and it would die before it would spin out. Its only got 34 hp as it comes from the factory. The 530 and the 350 with 42+ would outdo us every time. This mind you was when farm tractors were required tobe stock. Then they changed the rules
and we quit pulling.

Hi John,we just bought a hobby farm and a 1950 8n and are growing spuds. The 8n is too small to run the 5' rotavator and geared too high for the pulls so I considered this 300 case. But if you say it's only 34 hp then were no further ahead, thanks for the advice

For farming use they are a neat tractor. We pulled 3 14's in the hills with ours all the time, fluid and weights, plus the baler and wagon on behind. Its much more than an 8N, spent many hours on one of those also. Its just not a good pulling tractor as it stands.

That's good advice John, I guess there's not much gain over the 8n so I think that I'll pass on this purchase, but I did like the high-low range as opposed to the 8n 4spd.
