Looking for some parts that my local Case/IH dealer tells me aren't available any more. Seems like that the parts I need are pretty common. They are as follows: the gear shift ball part# o3501ab; and the hand clutch cap which I've yet to find a part number for. Any help in locating these parts would be greatly appreciated.

The gear shift ball on a 1949 model SC for example, is the same one that fits the Ford 8N's, unless the earlier SC's had a different one. V a l u - b i l t tractor parts has them for around $4.00 each.

John White from England has the rubbers for the early SC hand clutch levers. I think they run $75.00 or so.

Hi Andy,

Don L. has repros of the gear shifter knob- I saw them at Almelund.

That part number starts with a zero, not an "o" ... could that be your problem with IH?

What do you mean by hand clutch cap? Are you talking about an early hand clutch lever with a ball on the end? (or something else?)

My early SC parts catalog shows the #03501AB knob for the gearshift... but it also shows two other knob numbers (not sure why) Perhaps the ball is for the early clutch lever. I've never seen one in real life to know if they were threaded or not...

They are #05914AB "Ball for gear shift lever" and #05916AB "Knob for gear shift lever"

Hope this helps, -Schotte

Mike, Mike, Mike!! TSK, TSK, TSK!!! Those older CASE part #'s all start with the letter "O", not zero. That is why so many part searches come up empty cause the parts counter punches in zero instead of the letter "O". Those shift knobs are available from CASE.

I'm so ashamed.... (grin)

I did not know that, John. There's not a darn Case/IH parts house anywhere NEAR me... so I never got to try and order anything from them. (and there's stuff I want to order!)
