I want to install an electircal RPM gauge. When I go to the suppliers web site they ask about pulse rate of the generator. Of course the 570 has an alternator. What are they talking about? Larry

I think the tach. drives off the alternater much like they do on the diesel pickups. I looked into putting one on my Ford diesel pickup till they started talking $500. This is not a mechanical drive off the alt. with a cable like some of the early diesel tractors had. It is electrical and I wish I knew how they work. Good Luck

LARRY. HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT I HAVE ONE ON MY DC AND THE GENERATOR ISNT EVEN RUNNING AND IT WORKS FINE, JUST HOOKED UP TO THE DISTRIBUATOR, UNLESS YOUR 570 IS A DIESEL THAN MAYBE THAT IS WHERE THEY GET THE PULSE FROM, DCTOM

As the one reply noted that on a Diesel, there's no electrical pulse off the distributor so where do you hook the "green" wire? It needs a pulse like from an electrical fuel injector nozzle on a car, but with a mechanical injector? Might be a question to ask on Google.com for subject, "where to hook green wire for RPM gage?"

Hey DCTOM!! A distributor on a DC?? We may have to take disciplinary action on this matter. I'll have to bring it to the Board.

YAH JOHN MAYBE YOU SHOULD, BUT I THINK THE DISTRIBUTOR DOSE A BETTER JOB PULLING WHEN HE LUGS WAY DOWN, I KNOW IF YOU GET INTO THE IMPULSE ON A MAG IT IS ALL OVER, MY PULLERS ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT HAVE THAT UNORTHODOX SET UP, THINK I CAN GET BY WITH 50 LICKS WITH A WET NOODLE? LOL DCTOM

NO WAY are you lugging an engine down below impulse! (200rpm) And inless you are running an accel coil and dual point distributor its nowhere near as hot as a Case mag

Hey Klyde; I knew I could count on you. The council is in caucus as to the dicisiplinary action to be taken on DCTOM. I know his latest statement will add to the penality.
