Just got done attending a small tractor show and was surprised when I pulled up and parked my tractor next to another Case Sc. Kind of cool due to the fact last year there was only myself and one other Case there, this year there were four altogether.

Anyways the weird thing was that it was a sc-4 with a DC front axle and DC rear tires. The gentleman who owned it swore up and down that it wasn't altered by him and he has tried to look up the build card and says Case has no record of the tractor. I took a good look at the serial tag and saw that indeed it did have a SC tag with the first two numbers being 55 making it a 51. Looked the tractor up and down and saw the only other major difference was that the carb was a marvel and mine was a Zenith. I left the show and was firmly convinced that there may have been some hanky panky by the previous owners and the tractor may have a SC serial tag on it but may be infact a DC.

I worked for a farmer one time that had a sc4 with a case loader on it .Talk about heavy it had the front and rear tires loaded plus wheel weights front and back. And if i remember right the back wheels wear cast .foot clutch that ran in oil .When you let it out it was smooth no jumping . It would handle 3x12 in reel heavy wet clay and never slip.what a puller colso65

Yes they did make a few SC-4's and was produced only in 1953 and 1954. Don't confuse the SC with the adjustable wide front with the non-adjustable wide front that sat under the tractor. You could get a SC with the wide front that sat out in front of the radiator. A true SC-4 had adjustable rears and a non-adjustable front end.

no hanky panky here the sc4 53 and up came from factory with front hub that has duel bolt pattern. you can run 15in 5 lug or 16in 3 lug.my sc3 has same hub but 16in wheels will hit cultivater block.
