Just saw a funny Ebay auction- the guy was selling an old magneto, and listed that it might be for a tractor, hit-n-miss, or a STEAM engine!

Hmmm... maybe it was one of those steam engines that you start on gasoline and then switch over to steam! (grin)

Was maybe used to run the light on the front for thrashing at nite .Saved feeding in straw for a spark show you think? well||

From everything that I have read they had a lot of "condensation" trouble with those steam engine mags. They are very rare. Due to this defect not to many were made!

Yea, I'm getting kind of tired of seeing regular mags listed as "hit or miss" too. Or am I missing some thing? Never heard of a 4 cyl. hit or miss.

I've had a 4 cylinder hit and miss mag before....I never knew whether it was gonna spark or not from one day to the next...

Not only was it not a Thrasher (whatever that is) it was not a Thresher.
