Pulling a light disk(JD-BWA) with a CK 930 and the hydraulics got hot, or at least the control box on the rear above the pto was. The remote valves were centered, and there should have been no flow. I was just letting the plow trail, I wasn't raising it up and down repeatedly. BTW the lift and remote would still work.

What would cause this, and what is the remedy? And, where do you put in the fluid? Does it share fluid with the tranny, or are they separate?

The hydraulic-Transmission system operates on the same fluid. The system holds 17 gallons of HY-TRAN fluid. There should be a round cover on the left hand side of the hydraulic pump on the back side of the tractor.Pull up on the cover, there should be a dip stick attached to the cover, that is were you add the fluid. As far as the pump running hot, that may be normal. How HOt? The transmission which is the rsevore for the hyd system on a 930 will run as much as 100 degrees over ambiant temp. As for no flow - there is 15 gal of hyd flow through the remote valve at engine RPM as this is an open center hyd system. It should have no more pressure than it takes to flow the oil. My guess is that you don't have a problem as the remotes and lift will ork ok. hope this helps

If the draft arm control is trying to lift all the time,(out of adjustment) that will cause the oil to get REAL HOT . just a thought

Hey Klyde; You could have hit the nail on the head. I remember that the draft arm adj. was part of dealer prep. Listen up Roy: With the arms in fully raised position, you should be able to go back and still be able to lift the rockshaft some more. Hope this helps.
