I have got a Case S made in 1949. If you could, would you please send me the info you have helped the others out with. My ser # is 5309334 S. Also would anybody know what the compression is supposed to be in the engine. I have about 100-110 in every cylinder but the plugs are coated with oil and it smokes pretty bad. Thanks DCTOM for any info you can give me.

chris; 5309334-s was built jan 10 1949 and shipped to j i case co. st, louis mo. jan 21 1949 i beleive your compression is a bit low, and if it smokes maybe the rings are stuck a little, if you have a dyno and it has a pto put him on and pull his guts out for a while, maybe they will loosen up dctom

Thanks alot for the info, it's always nice to learn a little history behind these old things. I will try working her hard and see if that doesn't help it out any. I don't think this tractor has been used a whole lot. The hole in the drawbar isn't egg shaped at all. The rear axle is still all of the way forward too. I have a friend with a dyno and there is one up here at college too, so I will try to get them together as soon as possible and see how it turns out. Thanks alot for the help DCTOM!
