David Brown 1200 select-o-matic PTO

A neighbor (25 miles away, we have big neighborhoods out here) has a David Brown 1200 with PTO problems.He tells me his son tore into it some time ago and he wants me to finish it up for him.

I have never been into one of these, but I am assuming that It has a clutch, probably over-center, that may be the culprit.

I would like to know what kind of pitfalls I may be looking at and what the likely problem is. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

If someone has info on these tractors and what may be going on I would greatly appreciat some feedback.

Take the inspection cover off underneath and look up inside to see what is going on. It is a round plate with 4 bolts.
