444 or 446?

I just acquired a Case lawn tractor. The previous owner beleived it was a 444 but maybe a 446. He was sure he acquired it in 1971, thought it was the largest at the time. It has a 14 hp Kohler with 8-16 tires. Does the 14 hp imply a 444? or is there some other way to tell the difference. Apparently the frame was replaced so I don't find any plates referencing a SN on the tractor. SN on the Kohler is 2242264.

Also, 446 is 2 cyl Onan and the 444 is a one cyl Kolher.

Hey JW: The 14hp makes it a 444. The 446 would be a 16hp.
