I have never seen a 4994 Case FWD with a V-8 Saab Scania 866 cubic inch power plant,[big big big]that weighs 25,000 lbs. Had a phone call from a party who needs a rear axle U joint, part # A48801. Case says it is back ordered, list price is $2356.98, but they don't have one.
Does anyone know of a salvage 4994 to keep this Big Dog earnin its keep this harvest. These where the last of the black and white true Case built units, and maybe were also black and red.

John, He really means 4994. They are HUGE. The top of my head is just below the CASE name on the grill on the one I saw. They only made around 200 or so.

Yeah, these things are THE big boy! They had a lot of problems though, were the 4894 components which were rated to handle just over 300 horse and weigh in at 21000 lbs. The 4994 was tuned to 400 horse and weigh 25500 lbs. Not a good thing when you put an extra 100 horse on components not made to handle it.

Obviously you are not familiar with the 4994, I had a totally different frame, engine, trans, etc than the 4894 and the only problems I know of was with the earlier built front axles which were all replaced. The original front axles had about half the load capacity of the rear axles and the final version and replacements were same capacity as the rear axle. Then they ran and ran big!

We get our 2470 U-joints from napa. Have him take it to his nearest dealer and they should be able to i.d. it in their book. That's how we did it with ours. It will hopefully match up with a semi, that's what a 2470 is.
