430 Draft-o-matic Position Contol - How?

430 w/draft-o-matic, tripl-range, hand transmission clutch, non-live PTO. The oweners manual (not original with tractor) shows switching positions of a little metal block on the upper link mount to change from draft to position contol. Mine does not have a block. On the left side of the upper link mount I have a long square head screw. If I turn this in against the rear housing it looks like it would lock the upper link mount in a pulled, loaded position. On the right side I have a screw with a jamb nut that looks like it hits the housing and acts as a maximum compression stop screw for draft control.

Do I just turn the long screw all the way in to lock out the sensing? and won't it then be trying to relieve the load at light loads?

Or am I jus tmissing the block, and that's what should be where the the stop screw is?

You are missing the block - the screw might do the job if you donot get to much of a load and bend it. I have seen some implements that pushed on the top link enough to shear the bolt holding the block. hope this helps Roy
