Had a BLAST at Hamilton

My old L really got a lot af attention at the tractor show in Hamilton today.

While driving through the grounds past the booths and quite a few people, one of my vintage Firestones on the front let loose in a BIG way. It blew the whole sidewall out without warning.

Man you should have seen the people jump. It was LOUD.

I sure hated to loose one of those original old style 'Stones. I don't think they've sold them in that style in 50 years. These still looked pretty good but now I'll end up replacing the other just to make 'em match again.

It turned out to be an expensive show today.

7.50-18 tire ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..79.00
7.50-18 tube ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... 18.00
Mounting ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... .....15.00
42 mile Road service call ..... ..... 35.00

Creating a little excitement for the show goers ..... ..... ..... ..Priceless

Cy:

I have a catalog from M.E. Millet tire co. in Wauseon, Ohio.

They have Tirestone guide grip "OLD STYLE" front tractor tires. The 750-18 sells for $115. Might be worth giving them a call (419-335-7010 ext 4).

Hope this helps.

Sonds like you had fun. I have a 1930 CC that turns a lot of heads even without blowing tires.

Dan

I told you not fill them things with "hot air" (grin)

That is a shame, those were some really great looking vintage tires- and they added a lot to the look of the tractor.

I guess it could have been worse: That could have happened on your "C"- and everybody would have been covered in water!

No danger of that since I put the C on the wagon.

Its all dryed out now. Since I don't do the pullin' thing, I saw no need to haul all the extra weight around for nothing.

PS...I'm looking at some BIG iron...keep your fingers crossed for me.

I don't understand how a little light weight L could blow a front tire like that! Grin :)
