I have a VA with a loader that operates from the standard engine driven hydraulic pump. The loader valve is an open center 4 spool valve plumbed into the high pressure line going from the pump to the eagle hitch. This allows me to operate the loader, a set of dual remotes at the back of the tractor, and an open valve for future applications. I have set the relief valve at 450 psi to help prevent breaking something. Even at that pressure I can still pick up a full bucket(which would best be catogorized as a manure bucket based on dimensions) of dirt with no problems. A couple of down sides are the tractor gets light in the back end with a full bucket, and the limited hydraulic reservior volume gets somewhat troublesome with single acting cylinders. My recommendations would be to get double acting cylinders all around on the loader, stick with a small bucket, and don't expect to tear out stumps or move the world. I originally bought the tractor to fix up and sell, but I like having the loader around for my light work so I'm going to keep it. Good luck
