Hello, I recently acquired two case tractors. The first one is a gas powered caseomatic that says 800 on the cladding. the second one is a diesel with a clutch that is supposed to be the same model but I havent got tires for it so I can bring it home yet. I need to find help in making some repairs to them or at least making one out of the two of them but I need to be able to know just what they are. Is there a serial # located on them somewhere that I could use to try to id them? I just bought a small farm and need something I can use for hay. I also need to know how dependable the caseomatic gearbox is. Is it worth fixing or should I try to put the clutch one off the diesel on the running gas motor? I just want something reliable.

The second tractor may be a 700, or since it is a diesel, the tag on the side cowl in front of your right knee should read 701B. I have a 700 diesel and at one time had an 800. I have really liked the 700 and it would do more work than the 800. The 700 is a better tractor on the baler as the clutch on the Case-O-Matic is jerky when engaged at pto speed. Have owned my 700 for 32 years and is like a favorite dog to me...Gene

You have an 800B series is the first one. The serial number tag should be on the side of the dash about where your left knee is when sitting in the seat. As far as the Case O Matic, some love, and some hate. I have been driving one since I was six so it is easy for me. I have had great luck and could not live without it.
