I'm needing a starter ring gear for a 400 lp, anyone have one, whats the cost.

I can get a 800 diesel with thrashed engine pretty cheap if they will interchange, but don' know the condition of the ring gear.

Hi Donald, Try Stamm Equipment Co. Wayland,Mi.49348 Ph 269-792-6204, Tried every where for one for my 411,acording to the book the 411 is a one and only,the diesel is diff. also the 800,700,730,830,A friend of mine at caseIH & I went through the parts books frount to back nothing inter changes. Where are you Located, I'm at Crowell, 80 miles west of Wichita Falls, There is some othe older cases still sitting around up here, this is wheat counry, most are standards, next co. to the east was alot of cotton and alfalfa,so mostly row crops over there. thats where I found my 411 rowcrop lp.

Donald, I am located 50 mi. south of Abilene,Tx.right down US83 at Hatchel,Tx. I bought my 400 new in 1957,Just got the cotton stripper off last Oct. I used the (move engine back with fan) trick but clutch was full of dirt so had to split it anyway,The ring is not reversable, but could be slipped and would probaly last another life time, had 16,ooo hrs. on the first one.Do you know of any 400 standard or row crop for sale up your way? give me a call. 325-365-3497 or 325-365-6024/ Dale In Tx.
