I've got a book that indicates that the clutch is a single disc wet one. Well mines wet alright but I think it's the real engine seal. What is the real story?

Curt, yes it is a wet clutch, there is no rear seal as the oil is pumped thru the crank shaft and the fly wheel throws it back to the pan upi can adjust the clutch by pushing in a button and turning the pressure plate, your book should tell you how to do this . remember when you change oil in the engine to drain the clutch housing also or one quart of old oil will mix witht he new tom

Thanks Tom. Here's the problem or question. Oil leaks out of the clutch housing at the point of the clutch shaft. How is the oil level in the housong controlled and the leakage of which I speak controlled. Oil is bleeding out both sides of the housing; seems to be only when the tractor is running. Having drained that compartment, should I just bring the crankcase level up to high and let the clutch housing refill? How to stop the bleeding?

CURT; THERE ARE SEALS ON THE CLUTCH SHAFT TO KEEP THE OIL FROM LEAKING THERE, YES JUST FILL THE CRANK CASE AND IT WILL FILL THE CLUTCH HOUSEING, THE FLY WHEEL CHANNELS THE OIL BACK TO THE PAN. I THINK THE SEALS CAN BE CHANGED WITH OUT TOO MUCH WORK I THINK THEY GO IN FROM THE OUT SIDE, IF THE CLUTCH SHAFT IS WORN A LOT THAT MAY POSE ANOTHER PROBLEM MACHINING AND PUTING ON A SLEAVE, HOPE YOU CAN FIGURE IT OUT DCTOM
