Dan, lights should go out if hydralic filter and fluid are in good shape. Give tractor time to warm up and with rpms above say 1200 the lights should go out. Check hydralic fluid at dip stick by left knee as sitting on the tractor, keep mine about 1/4 inch above full mark on stick, seems like the lights work better with it a bit high. Paper filter element probally needs to be changed anually. If transmission shifter boots are bad and there is water in the tranny you need to change filter, fluid, and boots. Can't recall amount of fluid needed off the top of my head. HTHs Dale

There is a diode in the harnes between those two lights. Make sure it is allowing current only one way.

Elmer, forgot about the diode in that harness! There is one in the alternator also that my armature shop missed twice before it was finally fixed right. Dale
