ssgtbob; your tractor was built dec 24 1940 and shipped to harrissburg pa. feb 4 1941 it has edison mag and zenith carb, pto, fenders and belt pully. all SC,DC and LA tractors were buile with magnetoes, however a lot of them were changed over to distrubitors as the old case mag's became hard to fix and parts became unavaliable tom

To my knowledge- all SCs were magneto equipped. I think the really early ones had an Edison magneto, the middle years had the Case/Slick 4JMA magneto, and the late model ones had the Case/Slick Model 41 magneto.

International Harvester H4 magnetos will work and so will some of the Fairbanks-Morse FM series.

I'm pretty sure that all distributors on these tractors were from aftermarket kits or swaps from something else.

Somebody will chime in if I'm wrong.
