The engine is tor all apart in a crete,so you have $2000-2500 to fix this tractors Engine that is only worth $3500-4000 on a good day after you and tires and sand blasting and paint and what ever else it needs to restore it !I have better ways and places to put my MONEY, dont you all have enought Money PIT's .I do, all around my farm!

You're going to scrap an 830 CK just for the wrong color? You should be kicked HARD from behind

The 830 maybe the wrong color but the 870 maybe the factory color. Case painted some of the 70 series tractors white as demo tractors then later in the series they went to a white on them all. Color is all in the eye of the beholder. We are painting one of our F-20's pink with purple poka dots all over it just to get attention in parades.

I've got one of those wrongly painted tractors. Guess I might as well just let it roll down the bank into the brook and forget I ever owned it.
Wait a minute. I might get in trouble for that, "environmentalists" being what they are. Better just keep it and let it continue to work and try to get over the shame of it being the wrong color(s).

Perhaps Dummys should only be allowed to drive black cars as well. Come on most people that look at used tractors are not collectors they buy them to actually USE them for doing nasty work like farming and most dont give a hoot what color a tractor is painted. Think about this if you took a tractor in trade at your IH dealership and wanted to make it look presentable for resale would you go out and buy two gallons of special paint to have the true colors or say close enough and use the paint you buy in bulk? After buying David Brown in the early 70s, Case did sell tractors that were Power White and Power Red, so maybe they arent such dummys after all. In the 70's and 80's they had many color combinations, DesertSunset,Power White Power/construction Yellow,Power Tan and Silver along with the base colors of Power red, Flambou red, power brown, and Power black. If I planned on using or restoring a tractor to pristine condition I would rather have one with the wrong color paint that has been protected for all these years than one the right color that has seen the elements, its far easier to remove paint than it is to remove rust and scale, unless of course you are one of these restorers that slap the paint on over the chipped and peeling paint, then the wrong color would be a problem. Most people restore and collect tractors because they love them, and it is a labor of love, but then there are people that are just looking to half-assed restore them and make a quick buck selling them for top dollar, driving the prices way up for people that actually use them for farming and the people that want to restore them as a keepsake. My .50 worth
Terrance

Dale , Any dummy that would part out a case because it is painted the wrong color by some other dummy doesn't deserve to own a case . If the tractor is
good enough to fix up , it can't be too bad to put
a little paint on. Paint is cheap , if you buy it
from case. If it has motor trouble , it must have starter
trouble as that is the only motor on that tractor.
Otherwise it might have engine trouble as in (internal combustion engine), if it has a motor it will need a long extension cord . george

Not trying to start anything here, just to provide the facts. According to Webster-Merriam dictionary....
Main Entry: 1mo·tor Pronunciation: 'mO-t&r
Function: noun
Etymology: Latin, from movEre to move
Date: 1586
1 : one that imparts motion; specifically : PRIME MOVER
2 : any of various power units that develop energy or impart motion: as a : a small compact engine b : INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE; especially : a gasoline engine c : a rotating machine that transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy

So motor is a proper usage, as in General Motors, Ford Motor Co. American Motors. etc., etc.
