Hello,

I have a 1922 15-27 Case in pretty poor condition and I'm missing the magneto and the carby and I'd like to know what I'm supposed to be looking for. What were the model numbers and make for both of them. I think the magneto would have been a Berling (EQ-41?), with the reduction/induction/governor thing on the front of it?
I think the Carby was a Kingston but I have no idea what model it was, and what was special about it.

Lastly I'm curious about the colour it would have been painted originally? I've seen them painted all grey, then some grey with red wheels, and some others green with red wheels and a black radiator.
I'd be grateful for whatever help I can get.

Thank You in advance

Craig Gillingham

I THINK that the carb is supposed to be a Kingston L3, the same that is on a Model "L", but don't hold me to that. I'm sure someone else will confirm or deny that.

As to colors, a 15-27 is supposed to be green with red wheels, and the radiator is supposed to be black. The Crossmotor tractors were not changed to grey until the "upgrade", when the 12-20, 18-32, and 25-45 were released.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply Brian.

I would have thought I would get a few more replys, but perhaps that reflects how many 15-27's are still around. (or people who know a bit about them).
