I've spent the day trying to find some acrylic enamel for my VAC project. I searched the archives here and got:

NAPA: 99L 3727 (local NAPA guy says it's not one of their current codes).

DuPont: 016DH (DuPont technical guy says that's an old synthetic code but gave me two new ones to try: 44128 or 75195).

So, has anyone ever used DuPont codes 44128 "Flambeau Red" or code 75195.

If you have, which one seems to be THE color for Case.

Thanks folks.

Frank the NAPA: 99L 3727 is Flambeau red for Martin-Seynor more expensive paint line. Most of the jobbers are going to Crossfire paint system which is little less expensive but they do not have a number for Flambeau red. I found out the hard way when I went to my NAPA dealer to get one last quart of 99L 3727, he said sorry they had just switched to cross fire. I had to go to the next town over to get another quart.

Randy,

I used the cheaper Martin Senour "crossfire" paint- the guy at NAPA just substitued the crossfire price code "53A" for the "99L" price code- the color number was still the same for both - "3727".

Mike my biggest problem was he said it would not match what I had already and that my hardener and reducer would not be compatible with the crossfire system. Big bucks!
How did you like the Crossfire?
