I changed the fuel filters on my David Brown 1210 and cannot seem to get it bleed out to run. Does anyone have the secret to bleeding this tractor?

I read the other two comments and they are a good start. We have had pretty good luck by trying a different method after the bleeding process. We pour about 1 tablespoon of gasoline down the breather intake, and hit the key. It will run a little funny for about 3-5 seconds. Usually after about 3 to 4 repeats of this, it will have sucked all the air out of the lines and start running on the diesel. I am sure this concept could be over done, but we are careful not to pour in too much gas at a time. Good luck.

Tim, I work with a DB 995 3cyl w/CAV injector pump.if yours is the same, 1-open the bleed valve on the filter housing and operate the lift pump until fuel streams out, close bleed valve. 2-loosen the low pressure bleed valve on the inj. pump, operate the lift pump until fuel streams out, close bleed valve. 3-loosen the high pressure bleed valve on the inj. pump, operate the lift pump until fuel streams out, close bleed valve. 6-" loosen the high pressure tube nut at the nozzle end a small amount. With the fuel cut-off in the 'run' position and the throttle fully open, operate the starter a few revolutions. if you get fuel out of the lines at the nozzle end, she should be bled and ready to start. It may take a 2nd or 3rd attempt with the starter depending if the lines to the nozzles are completely empty of fuel or just have a few bubbles. If you have a helper, have them crank the engine while you stand by to tighten the injector line nuts. Have fun. Jim

Bleed it all the way to the injectors.
