Replaced my 730 Diesel fuel filters, but having trouble bleeding filter #3, the one up at the front of the engine. I opened the vent on the top of the can, cranked the engine with the bypass both open & closed, no fuel was pumped to it. No problems bleeding the other 2, and the service manual says nothing about bleeding this one. Any help from the experts here ? Thanks in advance Rollin

Thanks for the tips, I filled it through the hole on the top, and it started right up. I also cracked the fitting on the pump and let it bleed until all the air was out, as soon as i closed the fitting the idle smoothed right out, Thanks everyone for the great info !!

I did the same as the other guys on my 730. I filled the filter in the top hole and it started ran a little rough until the air got out of the system.

The few times that I changed mine I Filled the final filter up with clean fuel from the top hole and it started right up. I dont recall what the manual stated as the correct way to bleed the system.

I just changed all 3 filters on an 830 I just recently aquired..... a first time evolution for me. For the #3 filter I took out the bleed screw at the top and slowly poured fuel in giving the filter a chance to saturate while forcing the air out. Don't know if this was right or wrong, but it fired right up. My problem was to get the bottom fitting to stop leaking. Finally stopped after using teflon tape.
Good luck,jim
