Chuck, What is it you want to know about W9's? I worked for Ol' J.I. for 25 years. When I started this was a front-line machine.

Thanks, Steve

I am working on a W9 Case wheel Loader. No fuel is being inected to Nos 1 and 3 but is the 3 and 4. I removed the outlet check valves for 1 and 2 and made sure they were not stuck. I think the next step is to remove the pump for further inspection. I am not familar with the timing procedure for installing the pump. Is there anything shoyuld look for before removing the pump -timing marks, setting the engine to a specified position, etc. I shoould mention the machine sat for at least a year. The engine does fire on 3 and 4 and will start with the aid of ether and idle but will not revup. I will appreciatre a reply to my email which is [email protected]

Thanks

Don

Steve, what is the weight of the machine, what was the standard cubic yard of the bucket, This appears to be a shuttle shift (yes)The diesel that's in it is a 4 cylinder, but what cubic inch(no tag)I'm seeing 267 or 301 C.I.in my limited info. Are they hard to get parts for and what in your opinion is the strongest and weakest points of it.The Data tag says W-9 -D (W-9 diesel) or could I be seeing A "B" that looks like a "D".Serial is 8123557, what year? This one needs alot of work but I think I can get it for next to nothing. There is a welded water jacket on #1-2 and #1 has the rod poking thru the block. (appears bolts on cap failed)Think it's worth the hassel or is it scrap. Everything else seems to be there.Any info would be much appreciated.

Chuck,

I would recommed staying away from this machine, unless you plan on becomming my best friend. This is the very first model W9, so it has lighter axles (Rockwells) parts availability for these spindle breakers is close to nil. The engine is a 267 & while it's a good motor, once again you run into availability problems, especially with blocks, heads, cranks etc. Truthfully, I'd call the local boneyard & let them pick it up for salvage, & think about getting a good sized older skid-steer. They're easier to move & operate, & cheaper to fix.

Thanks, Steve

Steve, I appreciate your advice, as you said, you have 25 yrs in with JI, but, I'm just a hobbyist and this machine is just the right size for the light duty cleanup I intend to do with it.As for the price, I'm getting it dirt cheap and as for the transportation, it's all arranged. My challange is to make it go again, then clean it up,then paint it.I have all gas machines, Case SC (I brought back from the dead)JI Case 741,Farmall H (1944 and 1946) and a IH Cub Lo-Boy 1957.So this loader with a diesel engine is just what I'm looking for going into another long, boring winter.Any other info you can provide would be greatly appreciated, and thanks for the speedy reply.

JC, I'm in Northeast Ohio, I might need a connecting rod, a sleeve, block, final filter for what Steve in the other post said was a 267 diesel. I won't know until I rip the guts out and evaluate the engine.I'm commited now to this loader and there ain't no turning back, except for the small chance that this is entirely shot.Besides, what else am I gonna do when it snows for another 7 months up here.-Thanks for your reply and your offer of assistance.

Hi, ~~ I made a serious error in ID"ing the Case Wheel loader. Corrected, the loader is W7e, with a 301BG gasoline eng., which is what I need the parts for. Sorry. Hope this clears the issue somewhat, and produces some results. -- Thanks again.

Need parts for Case 7WE wheel loader; specifically an overhaul kit for it's 336BG, a gasoline type eng.
Can anyone out there help in this quest? I.e., anyone who knows someone else, etc., etc.
Thanks ahead of time.
ML
