I need some help or advice. I recently purchased a 1952 Case DC-4 with a 3 point Eagle hitch. The hitch worked well and lifted emplements well. Suddenly, it all stopped and on opening the hydraulic filter housing, I found that the chain had come apart and I found remenants of a needle bearing laying in the bottom of the housing. Is this a major problem or a quick fix? The master link came off of the chain and the chain itself was not damaged. Also, does anyone have a copy of the inside of this assembly that I could print out? Thanks.

I had to remove the whole hydraulic housing on my 6 speed 930, not a big job though. Someone let the oil level get low enough that it wore out the bronze bushing on the driven sprocket that drives the pump, then when the chain got loose enough it started to jump the teeth & broke some off of the drive sprocket on the pto clutch drum. I needed to remove the housing to press in a new pin that the driven sprocket runs on. The only place needle bearings are on mine is the pilot bearing on the pto shaft inside the clutch drum & inside the pump itself. I don't have a DC service manual to see if things are built similar to the 930.

The chain is made up of 2 20 link lengths of No. 50 roller chain. Needle bearings are found in the end of the stub PTO shaft (1) and the hydraulic pump(2).
