Anyone out there ever get into a rear axle teardown on a Case V? I need seal numbers for the following seals:

Outside Seals - both the inner (in the axle housing) and outer (in the outside bearing retainer housing) at the outside end of the rear axle. These are grease seals, originally felt but I'll have to go to neoprene I think.

Inside Seal - between the inner end of the axle and the differential housing. This is an oil seal and was originally leather but once again I'll go with regular modern ones.

No numbers on the outside ones (felt) that I took off. The inside seal has a number on it but it was the original Case seal and the number stamped is a Case number which means nothing these days. I guess I could go from measurements but if anyone has done this and kept a record of the seal numbers I'd appreciate it.

If you take the seal to a place that specializes in bearings and seals they should be able to match it up just by the measurements. I take mine to Motion Industries, here in the U.S.

I forgot, you will also probably have to accurately measure the shaft diameter for them to match it up.

Did as you suggested and have a full set of seals (3 on each side) for the axles, one inside oil seal next to the differential and two outside grease seals (and one new bearing). Guy at the bearing house was very patient and helpful .... it's great to get good service these days, even a little purchase seemed to get a lot of attention. Now to get everything back together.
