I recently rebilt the carb on my SC. It leaked all over but the tractor ran good. After reinstaling the carb the tractor will not run. If I turn the gas on and try to start it it only runs for about 3-4 seconds then stops. It dosent seem to get the fuel it needs. I have the idling adjustment 1 turn of seat and the load adjustment 2 turn off seat. Whats the Problem?????

You may have the float set too low and the bowl is not filling up enough. I would also suggest you install a plastic in-line filter just to make sure dirt is not causing the problem.

Thanks for the help I adjusted the float and the tractor stays running. I need to adjust the idle speed do you have any advice on were the idle speed screw should be set and how the screw for the throttle plate should be set? If I push my throttle lever forward the tractor speeds up If I pull it back it shuts off is this an idle problem?

I rebuilt my VAC carb and initially cleaned it by spraying the parts with carb cleaner. The tractor would not start. I bought a can of dip type carb cleaner and submerged the parts for the recommended time period. I then used compressed air to thoroughly clear out all of the passages. The carb now works fine.
