I am trying to find out anything about a tractor we are looking at to buy. It is a Case--gas-- four cylinder engine tractor. It has a wide? front with a bucket. The 'grandpa' we are buying it from says it has vac on the engine and he thinks it was made in the 60's and is 35 or 40 horse power. Any information or directions in identifying this tractor would be very appreciated. Thanks. [email protected]

Based on your serial number you have a 1953 model VAC 14. The VAC 14 was built like the Ford 8N to compete for sales. The HP is around 20 and they were built from 1953 thru 1955 with total production of 7,505. They are a very collectable tractor.

Look for a serial number on the dash or toolbox, and there should be a letter designation on it, unless it is a two-tone paint (tan and orange).

I hope I am doing this correctly. I have the serial number for the tractor. It is a Case VAC14-5756217.

Thanks for your help. Any information is appreciated.

Yep, you have a 1953 Case VAC-14, which produces 20-22 horsepower. Good luck!
