Sometimes the discs are stuck to the splined shaft. Is that the problem you are having with removal? Is there anyone in your area that re-lines brakes and clutches. I get mine re-lined locally. They charge $20 to $25 per disc. There are 7 carbon steel balls inside each brake assembly. I think 3 of them are 3/8" and the other 4 are 1/2" or vice versa. I've been buying new stainless steel balls instead of polishing the old ones. The ones I am using are made of type 440-C stainless, which is almost as hard a carbon steeel. I order them from the McMaster-Carr Company. They have a web site. I got a generic package of automotive drum brake parts at NAPA. There are some parts in this package (springs, etc.)that I have been able to make work on the Case SC brakes. Hope this helps.

I usually drive large screw drivers or what ever else I can find in behind the disc to wedge it out. I hammer things in at several points around the disc. I sometimes bend the disc a little, but it can be straightened later by hammering after removing the old lining. If you have the gear oil drained from the transmission, you might try heating the center a little with a torch while prying. I'm in WV. Tell me where you live and I will see if I can find someone that re-lines them that is close to you.

I've never bought any replacement SC brake discs. I've always been able to get mine re-lined. If you are looking to buy the whole disc you might try Don Livingston 507-433-0073 (mornings) or [email protected]
