Every now and than you see a bad crack at Case in this forum by an invader from another world. I just want to comment that I have an 870 Case purchased new by me in 1973 for $9600. It has never failed to start within 5 seconds, I don't use spray cans. It doesn't smoke, runs like a charm. I have never purchased a part for it yet, other than normal maintanance. It has a straight shift. It has just been a great tractor. I don't have anything against any make of tractor, but what I have found is, with proper care, you don't need to pay for the green with green.

As long as you take reasonably good care of and don't abuse it, any color should last a long dependable time. We all know people who swear by there color, then others who have had nothing but trouble with the same color.

I, for one, would love to know Deere's secrets of mind control and brainwashing.

I wouldn't trade my old case tractors off for even one new green thing. Some people just can't stand to see some of us using sound, dependable equipment.

trade in an old case for new green? are you kidding? i would not trade old case in on new case. i have a 29 L that has been out plowing the neighbors Case 500 Diesel for the last 30 years, and is still out plowing it.
ps. nothing costs like a deere
