I ran across a s c case yesterday that had a left hand clutch and both brakes on right side. Haven"t been to cases that long, but haven"t noticed one like this. What can you guys tell me? Thanks.

Hi it"s me back again. I found out from the most acknowledgable person i know about case tractors in ohio. He was quick to tell me they were only made in 1952. So guess i go from there. He also said that number is on the frame . Thanks guys. Bill

I saw one like this (hand clutch on left) not long ago for sale in WV. I think it was a 1953 model, can't remember for sure. Seller was asking $850. I figured I had better not buy it. Figured it would be too confusing to try to drive it after driving my other SC's with the hand clutches on the right.

If the serial # started w/80, its probably a '53. Haven't seen one, but rumor has it that some of the '53's were built this way, as the later '53's & 54's came w/foot clutches. BIL has a '53 DC w/both brakes on right, but a hand clutch. Read where late DC's were available either way, depending on what buyer wanted. I have not seen anything (in writing) that this option was avialable for SC's during the change over years, but it may have been. Probably kinda rare, only 1,135 built w/foot clutches. Does it have LPTO, live hydraulics & eagle hitch? (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
