Arm bruised from driving Case

As a first time Case owner, I've noticed a problem I haven't had with other tractors.

Using my Case 900, I've noticed I now have a bruise on my forearm from bumping the steering wheel with my arm when changing the gear selection. I guess I just need to be a bit more careful.

Since the tractor has power steering, I'm almost tempted to put a smaller diameter steering wheel on it ;-)

Anyone else have similar problems?

It aint the tractor,it's a case right.
The problem is your arms need to be shortened.

Jokes aside. I know what you are talking about ,I have a 560 farmall that makes my right arm bleed whenever I change gears and turn at the same time. just a hazard of using antiques I guess.

I have to admitt that I haven't driven my 900's a whole many miles but never had the problem of bruising my arms while shifting it.

Absolutely nothing can make me want to swear as good as when I hit a chuck hole with the front wheel of the 400 and it sends the steering wheel spinning at around 1000 rpm with my thumbs in the spokes!!! Makes me feel so good when it stops hurting!!

My Dad told me the first time he let me drive the tractor to "Never Put Your Thumbs On The Inside Of The Wheel"

George, thats one fine looking tractor you have and it is the correct color. The hoods were Desert Tan and the fenders were, not sure when they dropped the flambeau red and switched to power red. Still a beauty.

I have an 830 and not had problem.
Look at changing seat setting, the crook of my elbow falls at steering wheel.
Bend or change the length of shift lever.

I have moved the seat back so it may help. I also think that as I get used to this tractor I'll get used to changing gears without bumping my arm against the steering wheel.
