powershift or torque limiter?

I have a case 1370 that will barely move. The lift arms will not move. There is no pressure at the remotes. When you put the tractor in 4th range, release the inching pedal and press the brakes-- nothing happens. The power steering is also a little slow. Could this be a slipping torque limiter or is it in the powershift?

I vote with sheared bolts in the c2-c3 clutch pack. This was very common if there is no other destruction you can drill and tap and use late model 7/6 bolts. The hydralic pump drives of the center of the fly wheel (not torque limiter) so it's not the problem. If you have reverse (it uses, I think, c1-c4 and not prone to masive failure.

It sounds like the hydraulic pump is good but you have a serious internal leak. Had a 1270 do the same thing basically. Had pressure at the outlets until you powershifted into 2nd or 3rd. What happened was the three bolts that hold the clutch pack sheared off. Local mechanic (a very good one too) said this is not uncommon on the 1270's. He tapped the holes the next size bigger, from 3/8 to 7/16 I think, anyhow after having the larger bolts he claims he has never had one come back with the bolts sheared again. Good luck.

Try this test: Depress the inching pedal and see if you can raise the 3 point. If you can, you have a massive internal leak in the powershift. If the 3 point won't raise, then it's related to the pump, or screen in the transmission housing.

Sounds like you have hydraulic problems. If it was the torque limiter you would still have hyd. and PTO. Check your hyd. filters, and suction screen, then your pump pressure. Did it crap out all at once, or did it build up to this? Could be something in your pump drive if it went all at once.

Thanks for the reply. The transmission filters have been changed and the filter gage reads in the green. Sometimes I have reverse, most of the time I don't. Sometimes I have 1st and 2nd powershift in 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranges. Nothing in 4th range. No 3rd powershift in any range. The tractor doesn't stop in 3rd powershift but it doesn't speed up either. According to the manual, if you put the tractor in 4th range and press the brake pedals it should kill the engine if the torque limiter is good. It also states that the tractor should make a bucking motion if the limiter is bad. Nothing happens when I press the brakes. I thought some of you guys might have had this problem before. Any help will be appreciated.

If the torque limiter is set up the same way as the 90 series could be the limiter. When my 90 series lost it no hydralic, steering or pto,no move.
