I am rebuilding a 284 cid LP gas 4 cylinder engine for a pulling engine for my 700 Case. This engine came off a big Case combine. Does anyone know what the RPM should be on this engine? Does anyone know if Case made a 301 cid or 336 cid 4 cylinder gas engine? I know they made those sizes in diesel. Also, I'm going to switch it over to gasoline and plan on using a 930 gas carb for extra fuel. Will this work? What kind of HP can I expect if I port and polish the heads and get the cam ground?

I've got a '62 830 LP that runs 1900 under load & 2050 no load. I also have Dad's '61 Case 800 combine that has the same as a 730 tractor engine, it is supposed to run 2000 under load. They made a 301 gas for the 870 tractors & 336 was the diesel engine for the 870. I don't know how a 930 carb would work, it might? if you plan on revving that engine quite a lot over factory rpms. I can't help either on the head & cam changes..... Roger
