I've taken the Gen off my SC to rebuild. It wasn't working. Seems mostly to be dirty, much like rest of tractor. I can't find an ID plate on it. Book says they used Delco and Auto-light? or Ford brand, whatever it was. I find GBM-2 on outside of end cover and CAM on inside of opposite cover. Mean anything? The regulator was an Echlin VR-755. Can I still get those? Or substitute? Gonna need brushes for sure, has a bearing and bushing, needs gasket for cover over end, think it's for oil wick or something. I found a kit at my Agco dealer for Delco, with similar parts, just not same gasket I don't think. Didn't know they had rebuild kits for gens like that. How can I find which one I need for mine??

Howdy Mr. Perry-

I can't help you much with the workings of the SC generators- but I can help you with some model numbers:

(These come from various SC parts catalogs- and I can't be sure what years the switch between models occurred:)

Part #06240AB- Generator. Purchased from Electric Auto-Lite Co., Toledo, OH. Their No. GBM 4809-B

Part #09063AB- Generator. Purchased from Electric Auto-Lite Co., Toledo, OH. Their No. EO-10194. (a later year parts catalog lists this same Case part # as Auto-Lite No. GHD6001C.)

None of the parts catalogs list the voltage regulators seperately... so I can't give you any ideas on what the correct part numbers for them are.

Regards, -Schotte
