Just had the injector pump repaired and need to put back on. I don't have a manual yet and was hoping to get it on this weekend. Can someone give me instructions on setting the timing. thanks

I set my timing with the head off so I used the piston with a dial indicator, Other wise you can pull off the valve cover and take off the valve spring clip and let the valve (ride on top of the piston) and show you where number 1 piston TDC should be,be careful you dont let the valve go on a bottom stroke or you will have some extra head pulling to do. you can then put a dial indicator on the valve end. I set mine at 31 degrees before top dead center, dont quote me but I believe it .4364 inches btdc. , The marks for TDC should be on the front crank pully, There are also two other set of marks for adjusting valves at 1/3 and 2/3 increments. Once you have the correct BTDC set you will have a big screw plug just to the front of the injector pump. Line up the little lines in there, you can loosen the bolts and twist the pump so the lines line up. Just dont move the piston to line up your line, use the pump.Good Luck
