hi all,
a freind of mine has purchased a new ford unit and offerred his case 530 to me. it is converter type he says.
he replaced the pinkish trans fluid? with hyd fluid?[one has to be wrong] when he got it, and it developed a bad tranny leak back of starter, and runs out of fluid quickly.the more the tractor warms up the less movement power it has.still starts right up and h/ldr works, just runs out of steam to use or move around.
is this a split/death wish undertaking?
i keep thinking maybe the fluid changing, but there's still that monster leak.
sorry not too familiar with this case.
thank you

mine leaks out of there too. Mine is much slower such that you only have to refill once per year. I am pretty sure you have to split it to fix that seal. I dont think the fluid did it, just normal wear and tear. Splittin it prob isnt too bad, if you are getting a good deal. Parts cost should be minimal. -Greg
