I have a color question for all you gurus out there. When Case switched from Flambeau Red to Desert Sunset, did the frame paint switch also, to Power Red, or was it still Flambeau? Thanks in advance for the info.

Aaron,
I just finished painting my dads VAC with Auto grade Flambeau Red with clear coat, which is 99.9 % correct. We had to touch up a spot with power red , no match at all but it is a lot cheaper. When I ask Rich T. at Case he was very kind to give me the paint colors for my 400 case.If I remember what Rich said was Case no longer makes Flambeau Red. My thoughts.

Desert sunset goes with flambeau red. Power red goes with power white and power yellow.

I know this topic has been tossed about before here on the Case forum but isn't Flambeau Red a pretty close duplicate (maybe not exact) to the Power Red? What really baffles me is why Case called either one of them "red" instead of orange. I've often thought that if you showed that color to a thousand grade school kids, 100% of them would say it's orange before red.

depending on the light its in it looks red. you can see it in photos and books more than up close.

power red and flambeau red are pretty close. one is a shade darker.

hope this helps!

power red and desert sand started with the 70 series tractors, desert sunset and flambeau red was used on the hundred series thru the 30 series tractors.
