I am wanting to put my tractor up for sale with a few attachments - I want your opinion(s) on if I am asking too much.
It's a 1951 Case DC-3 - Engine Completely rebuilt in 2000 29 HP up to 34 HP
Eagle Hitch replaced with a true Cat-1 3-Point Hitch - Dual Hydraulics that work fine
All perfect sheet metal - new paint job (original color I think) New decals (some of them have already been attached). Great rubber on rears and on one of the fronts. The othher front is weather cracked but still has all tread and holds air indefinitely. Tractor runs fine but needs what I think to be governor adjustment. The system has been converted to 12 volt (new 12 volt battery) and the magneto has been replaced with a distributor which I have upograded with a Pertronix Electronic Ignition (no more points to go bad). All gears work fine and stay in while in use - brakes are good too (left slightly better than right). Comes with a 6 foot King Kutter 3-point bush hog deck (Heavy duty) used 1 year which is in very good condition, and a 6 foot scraper blade (3-point) which is heavier duty than the ones you find to buy nowadays.

I am planning on asking around $2250 which would be a loss for me but I need to get a smaller 4WD compact tractor with a smaller deck and I need it quickly. This tricycle front end is a little unsafe on the steep hills I have.

Am I out in left field? Should I ebay it and at what starting price? Any of you interested? I can provide many pictures if you want.

Thanks

Chris Hibbert

Seems like a mighy good price, should sell fast. If you were to keep it, look for a wide front end and set the rear wheels at max tract.

Good luck

I have a1944 DC4 allfuel and i love i cant understand why you would want to sell it to buy a glorified lawn mower. And second of all narrow frontend tractors arent any more dangerous than a small weightless and also a lot more narrow in the rear than aDC but if you are stuck on selling the best tractor for the time period go ahead but first send me a picture and a price for it and mabe i will take it off your hands.

You ask for opinion so I just as well through mine in. Keep the DC. If it turns over on a hill faster then a cheap casted compact it would be new news to me. A 2500 pound 4x4 tractor aint going to out pull a 5000 pound 2 wheel with 38 inch tires. If you need something smaller by a good rideing mower with a smaller cut and keep the DC for the real jobs. The first pig iron casting that breaks on that compact you will be wondering why you didn't keep the DC. Just my opinion.

Hey Chris; Remember, you can always come down, but you can't go up. BTW, If you have that old magneto and Eagle Hitch, I'd be real interested in buying them.

Sorry - don't have either - the hitch and magneto work was done prior to me.

I don't think that's too much but then, I'm in New England where everything costs more.

Some may disagree but with the work thats been done and the condition its in and the two items included, I would say go for it. Think Cases have been sold too cheap.
