I think it sold for $5,000 or $5,100. It didn't impress me very much. It looked like any other C case, except it had taller rear tires.

Only 7 made. If I had the bucks I would have gone higher to get it.

I told dad what it brought, all I got was a blank stare. He figures peopole ought to pay me to show up even if I don't bid everything goes sky high

Should have had 14" clearance on the front axle as well, I would have expected it to go higher

The reason I asked is that I own a CH. I dont have the serial numbers handy for the seven but there is over 180 CH tractors out there that case refitted at the factory as ch,s None of the seven have come to life that I know of. If that was a refitted case I would think that the new owner may be wishing he checked out the serial number first before bidding. The only real difference in them is the spacer block to get the ground clearance on the front axle and the spindles are a little different. Bill

How is one to know the difference between the true (7) CH's and the factory conversions

A person by the name of Tom Graverson did reearch on this subject and came up with the seven serial numbers of the tractors that case built as ch,s then added up all the cc,s and c,s that were brought back to racine and refitted as ch,s The seven serial numbers were listed in one of the case mag. The data stated that the ch had no turning brakes but thats hard to say how the customer ordered them.Mine was a cc then refitted as a ch at racine in 1938. Having a copy of the build card will tell the story of each tractor, and that you can get from Racine. Sorry for the long post. Bill
