Clutch/Flywheel removal on Case V ???

I'm asking this question from memory since my tractor is not handy right now. I've split the tractor (Case model V, not a VA)in two and now I want to remove the engine from the front half frame rails. I've got to get the flywheel off the back hub of the crankshaft before I can get the engine out. Right now there are only three bolts (I think) showing that are attatched to the clutch. I think they are attatched to the throwout spring levers (or whatever they are called). They are the only bolts that are showing when I look at that back end of the front section. Obviously the three bolts have to come off but I don't know what to expect when I do that. I assume that it will allow me to remove the clutch from the flywheel, or maybe something else will appear underneath? I know that the flywheel itself bolts to a hub or flange on the rear of the crankshaft on those little Continental 4 cylinder flatheads. Any suggestions as to what to do or as to what I can expect?

it sounds like the same set-up as the VA.

dont worry, it wont self destruct when you take it appart if thats what your worried about. the clutch "fingers" are fastened w/ rivets laterally against the bracket. there should be 6 - 5/16" bolts holding the bracket to the flywheel NOT the big ones. those are to put tension on the fingers/springs.

its similar to the old pressure plates found on the old VW Bugs. this one is just serviceable.

may the force be w/ you (no pun intended)

Thanks Mike. I removed the "hide" on my email address. Could you email me directly here at home using the colored name link above and then I'd have your email address and if I have any more questions then maybe I could contact you if and when I need some advice. Sounds like you know a lot more about Case tractors than I do. You live in Quebec right?
